Learn with ME
Kindergarten
to Grade 1
Our focus at this level is primarily phonics, vocabulary, speaking and listening. Our goal is to give your child the best foundation for the English language. We use a scaffolded approach to our phonics program and build up their knowledge building upon what they have previously learned. This method has hugely successful results as most of our students in this junior program begin to read, write and speak in English. Our lessons for our younger students will start with shorter classes more frequently and advance to hour-long sessions, ideally 2-3 times per week.
Grade 2
to Grade 8
Our primary focus for these grades is reading, writing, grammar, comprehension, listening, oral communication and spelling. We usually incorporate their learning of these topics by encompassing what your child loves. If they love bugs, we write about insects and read books about life and nature. We also introduce them to new topics and subjects to expand their vocabulary. These lessons are fun and engaging, and we want the student to leave feeling successful and excited for the next class. Students, at this age, will be assigned homework. Almost all students in these grade levels have a novel study that they read to the teacher and are assigned pages to read outside of class hours.
Grade 9
to Grade 12
Our senior learners are more specialized and subject dependent. We enhance their subject-specific vocabulary and assist them in all areas of their learning. Writing, reading, analyzing, communication, and listening and speaking skills. Our teachers are qualified and specialized in the subject that they teach. Please do not hesitate to inquire about a specific topic. We have teachers from all over Canada specialized in teaching any subject.
